ANDY
WARHOL AND HIS CLAN (1970, Colour)
Seven thousand people crowded into the Royal Albert Hall in June 1965
to listen to the Beat poets read. Ginsberg, Corso, Ferlinghetti, Mitchell
are among those featured. Peter Whitehead's film brings across all the
excitement and emotional fervour of that historical evening.
OTHER
MATERIAL
Footage is available on Allen Ginsberg, Lawrence Ferlinghetti and other
beat luminaries, as well footage from the UK's Summer of Love in 1967
(including Carnaby Street). There is also material on Ossie Clarke, fashion
guru and a key figure in shaping and defining the 1960s.
